Why did you become an academic advisor/academic coach/educational administrator?
I want to help students and make a difference in their lives. I need to know that what I do as a professional has purpose behind it.

What is your favorite thing about the TAMUG experience?
I love the relationships that I have built across departments.

What is your best advice for incoming students?
The first piece of advice I have is to work hard. Invest time into your education. Learn to manage your time and utilize the resources available on campus. If you don’t know what those are, ask.
The second thing I would suggest is to get involved with different groups to break out of your comfort zone. It’s important to gain the whole university experience, educational and social.

What is your advising/coaching/leadership philosophy?
My philosophy is to help people by providing clarity and direction. It is my goal to answer all questions and provide the tools needed to help my students feel stable. I want to set-up students for success, not failure.

What do you do when you are not advising/coaching/working?
I go to church and volunteer at different church events. I love spending time with my dog, working out, and getting to rest while enjoying the peace and quiet.

What else should students know about you?
I love to help people and put a smile on their faces. I also enjoy baking. In fact, I usually show people I care about them by giving them a baked good.
