Favorite Galveston spot:
I love Mod Coffeehouse and Freckleberry Teahouse as spots to hang out and get some work done. For some great local ingredients & goods, The Galveston's Own Farmers Market every Sunday morning is amazing.

Why did you become an academic advisor/academic coach/educational administrator?
I think college has the most amazing potential to be transformational for young people, and I love helping to support that.

What is your favorite thing about the TAMUG experience?
We truly have the best of both worlds - all the resources of a major research institution, with the personal feeling of a small college. I really think our students have more opportunities to get involved in high impact opportunities than almost any other institution.

What is your best advice for incoming students?
Be intentional. You are going to have a lot of new freedom, a lot of new opportunities, a lot of new decisions. Continue to think about what you are trying to accomplish. Your goals might change while you are here - and that is totally okay! This is a great time to explore what you want to do and be in life - just be sure you are intentionally engaging with the things that will help you do that productively.

What is your advising/coaching/leadership philosophy?
It is my goal to facilitate the growth of every student I engage with as they develop into fully autonomous learners and human beings. I strive to consistently approach each student with respect and empathy to assist them in reaching their personal definition of success.

What do you do when you are not advising/coaching/working?
Whenever I have free time, I am playing with my two kids (Dean and Tilly), my two dogs (Wednesday and Winston), or working on art projects.
