Syllabus Descriptions for Academic Support

Center for Academic Learning Support

Free scalable learning services for students, staff, and faculty supporting writing, math, specific courses, research, communication and media discovery, degree navigation, and academic skill interventions. These services are hosted in one-on-one, small group, and large group formats and available for appointments through Navigate or walk-ins at the Library and Seibel Learning Center suite. Questions may be directed to cals@tamug.edu.

Course Support

Peer Consultants offer 30 minute sessions throughout the week for students to reserve as needed to ask specific questions about difficult course concepts and/or assigned homework problems. Sessions are available in 1-On-1 and Small Group formats to optimize student learning. Students should bring their course materials, notes, and calculators. Session dates, times, and locations are posted on Navigate in Howdy. Questions may be directed to cals@tamug.edu.

Guided Group Study

Guided Group Study sessions are peer-led with activities designed to cover different course topics each week. Course Consultants repeat sessions three times a week so that students may attend once a week or as needed throughout the semester to stay on track or get ahead. Session dates, times, and locations are posted on Navigate in Howdy. Questions may be directed to cals@tamug.edu.
