Dear Students,  

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Completing your baccalaureate degree is huge accomplishment!

Given the impact of the current COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, we realize that students may feel a little unsure when thinking about their future employment prospects right now.

For Fall 2020, Texas A&M University at Galveston’s professional programs in Maritime Business Administration and Logistics (MAAL), Marine Biology Interdisciplanary Program(MARBIDP), and Marine Resources Management (MARM) are offering an expedited admissions process into graduate school for graduating TAMU and TAMUG seniors. There is no application fee required and GMAT/GRE scores and letters of recommendation are being waived for Fall 2020.

Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics

To be automatically admitted into the Master of Maritime Business Administration and Logistics (MAAL) program, students should meet the following criteria:

  • May 2020 or August 2020 graduate
  • Overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Submitted MAAL expedited application
  • Submitted Admissions essay 

All completed applications should be emailed to kinslown@tamug.edu.

If students do not have a 3.0, their application will be reviewed by the graduate admissions committee for admission consideration.

The Maritime Administration and Logistics degree is a business degree, similar to an MBA, with a specific focus on the maritime industry. The program is available either as a traditional on-campus program or as an online program. The program is approximately 2 years if pursued full-time. 

Prerequisite requirements are as follow; if students do not have these prerequisites, they will be required to take them at the beginning of their graduate studies:

  • Accounting I & II (ACCT 229 & ACCT 230)
  • Management Information Systems (MARA 250)
  • Economics I (Principles of Economics) (ECON 202)
  • Statistical Methods (SCMT 303)
  • The Management Process (MARA 363)

Master of Marine Resources Management

Not sure about next steps? Check out the Master of Marine Resources Management (MARM) program. You may be eligible to be automatically admitted to the program without a long application process and with GRE scores and letters of recommendation waived.

THE MARM PROGRAM

The MARM program provides students with an understanding of coastal and ocean policy and management, opening up a wide array of professional oppor­tunities. With a focus on the interactions between society and environment, students with undergraduate degrees in both the natural and social sciences learn to take interdisciplinary approaches to solving the complex problems facing coastal communities. The program also offers a GIS certification for those that want to hone their spatial analysis skills. Graduates of the program work in a wide array of fields, including: coastal zone management, urban planning, conservation, environmental consulting, oil and gas resource management, secondary and higher education, and environmental outreach. FAST-TRACK APPLICATION 

Right now there is an expedited admission process for the professional (non-thesis) track. That means you can skip the external application and application fee and even apply without a GRE test score. Letters of recommendation are also waived. Specifically, to be automatically admitted to the MARM program on the professional track, you must meet the following criteria:

If you have a GPA lower than 3.25, you may submit an application for review by the graduate committee for admissions consideration. There are no course prerequisites required for admission to the MARM program.

Master of Science in Marine Biology Non-Thesis Option

Not sure about next steps? Check out the Master of Science in Marine Biology Non-Thesis (MARB NTO) program. You may be eligible to be automatically admitted to the program without a long application process and with GRE scores and letters of recommendation waived.

To be automatically admitted into the Master of Marine Biology (MS) Non-thesis program, students should meet the following criteria:

All completed applications should be emailed to kinslown@tamug.edu.

If students do not have greater than 3.5 GPA, their application will be reviewed by the graduate admissions committee for admission consideration.
