Get To Know Yoonjeong (Yoon) Lee

What in your life drew you to your current field of study?

I've always wanted to do something that interests me and benefits those arounds me at the same time. Being a social scientist and educator in the field of hazard resilience felt like the right fit for that.

What do you hope your students gain from studying or working with you?

I hope my students learn to look at things from different angles, even those that might be unfamiliar, and to approach things holistically, so they can have empathy for others who may have different viewpoints.

What are you passionate about in your personal life?

Food, travel, quality time with loved ones, things that are pretty but not necessarily useful, etc.
