On Saturday, November 2nd, 2024, the Sword and History Club hosted the Battle on the Bay tournament in the Aggie Special Events Center ballroom.

Five schools visited this tournament: the University of Texas at Dallas, Tamu and Tamug, Texas Tech, and Letourneau. In attendance, 22 fighters and 10 visitors were present as the tournament began.

The Sword and History Club of Tamug is in its 3rd iteration of hosting a tournament. As the tournament waged, other competitors between bouts would volunteer as judges.

In the future, the Sword and History club aims to transform the HEMA comradery into an official club sport once the tournament concludes, thanks to tournaments held under the recently formed Texas College HEMA conference.

The winners of the longsword division of the tournament were Jackson Rotello of Weapons of Ancient Realms Society who won first place, Nicholas Lozuk of the Historical Swordfighting Guild of UT Dallas who won second place, Arhaam Haque of the Historical Swordfighting Guild of UT Dallas who won third place, and Andrew Mcneill of weapons of Ancient Realms Society who won fourth place.

For the mixed weapon division of the tournament, the event participants were a mixture of different levels of experience, with some just beginning to be seasoned pros of the sport. The winners were Caden Marcado of Texas A&M University at Galveston, who won first place; Nicholas Lozuk of the historical Swordfighting Guild of UT Dallas, who won second place; Trieu Vuong of Texas A&M University at Galveston, who won third place; and Jackson Rotello of the Weapons of Ancient Realms Society who won fourth place.
