TweetOn the evening of October 18th, 2024, the student organization known as Maroon Delegates coated their next group of representatives for the tenth iteration of the maroon delegates, Class X.
The Maroon Delegates are the sister organization to the Maroon Coats in College Station. The maroon delegates are an official arm of the university, serving as ambassadors to prospective donors and giving their perspectives as current students to gather further support and resources for the university.
Jason Elliott ‘25, the cadet corps commander, was also present to receive a maroon coat as a maroon delegate. Friends and family of the students, along with the current maroon delegates, were present to witness the students receive their coats.
According to cadet commander Jason Elliot, the coating ceremony marked the final step towards complete acceptance and inclusion among the delegates. “From that point, I've been fully invested and excited to pursue any opportunity that comes my way through the maroon delegates.”
Student body vice president and Class X Maroon Delegate Abigail McKenna stated that she was “Honored to receive a maroon delegate coat” and that the maroon delegates are her “way of giving back to campus.” She is very excited to work more with our community and College Station as a Maroon Delegate and to both learn and build the future of our Galveston campus.
