Review: BeetleJuice Beetlejuice

By Quentin Young-Rittenhouse ‘26

The second Beetlejuice film is out and I can’t help but recommend it.

Let me just start with the rating of 4 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the good fun this movie had to give, despite its issues it was well worth the watch.

Whether you are a  new fan, or a returning Beetlejuice fan, you are sure to enjoy this one.

The best members of the original cast return, now with a new character played by Jenna Ortega. Her character blends right in with who we already know, and it’s kinda refreshing to see a sequel not rely only on old characters.

When it comes to juice himself you're gonna be getting more of what’s in the original, honestly he feels as if he never changed. Which in this case works excellently because the character is well designed and thought out.

The one issue I found while watching is that of a double edged sword. The movie’s plot moves pretty fast, which means the more boring scenes don't linger longer than they are welcome, but fun scene’s were a little too short.

The movie is just that though, a bit of good fun. It has some charm from the original and overall it may take a second for it to grow on you. But if you really give it a shot, you will have a nice fun watch with this movie.

I’d say if you're a fan of campy spooky themed movies like myself, this is a must see for just a bit of that October fun movie watchlist.
