WHAT IS THE BLUE ECONOMY?

The blue economy is the economic, social, political and ecological vitality of our oceans and surrounding ecosystems.

Texas A&M University at Galveston drives the development of the blue economy in the Gulf Coast through education, innovation, discovery, scholarship and service. Focusing on the economic, social, political and ecological impacts of our oceans, surrounding ecosystems and industries, the campus has adopted a global, holistic perspective in pursuit of research and development in the following critical areas:
