Grant Shallenberger has been with Texas A&M University at Galveston since 1989. Mr. Shallenberger spent the first 23 years with the campus as a student affairs professional culminating with serving as the Chief Student Affairs Officer from 2008 – 2012. Beginning in 2000, Mr. Shallenberger accepted oversight of most campus auxiliary functions including dining services, bookstore, copy services, summer conferences, and mail services.
In 2012, Mr. Shallenberger moved into the Associate Vice President of Administration and Auxiliary Services role. While maintaining responsibility for the auxiliary functions, this new assignment added oversight of human resources and campus police; serving as contract administrator for the outsourced facility and dining services agreements; and leading all facets of the construction capital plan including program of requirements development, building design and serving as the University representative on all construction project teams. Due to the generous support of Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M University System and the State of Texas, the campus currently has more than $150 million in capital projects either recently completed, in design or under construction.
In addition to these duties, Mr. Shallenberger assists in all facets of the division’s budgeting process.
Mr. Shallenberger earned his B.B.A. in Management from Texas A&M University in 1986 and his M.A. in Public Management from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in 1994. He was awarded the Distinguished Staff Service Award in 1994 and the William Paul Ricker Distinguished Staff Award in 2003.
Mr. Shallenberger resides in Galveston with his wife, Sara, and two children, Megan ‘18 and Amanda.
